Effect of Acupoint-injection of Self-blood Mixed with Gamma Globulin on the pulmonary and Bronchial Tissues in Asthmatic Guinea Pigs Li Junxiong , Yu yu, Wu Qinghe (Teaching Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanhai,Guangdong , PR.china,528200) Objective: Observing the therapeutic effect of acupoint-injection of self-blood mixed with gamma globulin on the morphological changes of the pulmonary and bronchial tissues in allergic asthmatic guinea pigs. Methods: 51 guinea pigs were randomly divided into 1)saline intraperitoneal injection group (n=8), 2)asthma model group (n=8), 3) positive-drug group (n=7), 4) self-blood acupoint injection group (n=7), 5) gamma globulin acupoint injection group (n=7), 6) self-blood plus gamma globulin acupoint injection group, and 7) self-blood plus gamma globulin intramuscular injection group (n=7). Bilateral Feishu (BL13 ) were used for injection. The injection was conducted once daily with 5 sessions being a therapeutic course, two courses altogether. Results: The results showed that the therapeutic effect of the self-blood plus gamma globulin is the best, marked by basic disappearance of the muco-embolism, no obvious spasm and no thickening of the smooth muscle, considerable alleviation of the inflammatory cell infiltration and disappearance of the bronchial wall congestion and edema under light microscopic observation . The injection of gamma globulin alone also had the above changes, but the effect was moderate. The effect of the self-blood injection is also better, being just a little weaker than that of gamma globulin plus self-blood injection . Conclusion : Acupoint injection of self-blood mixed with gamma globulin has a fairly good therapeutic effect in improving the structural changes of pulmonary and bronchial tissues in asthmatic guinea pigs.
